Fatima Karim - President
Hi! My name is Fatima and I am the President of CSA for 2020-2021. I am a junior in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in Korean. I am from Guyana, a geographically South American country that identifies as Caribbean. My academic interests lie in researching new renewable energy innovations and energy efficiency with a strong focus on sustainability. I am also an Executive Fellow for Sustainability and Environmental Justice in ASSU and on the executive board of the Black Student Union and Cap and Gown. Jessica Matrinez - Vice President/Communications Officer
Hi, I'm Jessica Martinez and am both Communications Director and Vice President. I am Puerto Rican and Mexican and a junior studying chemical engineering. While I'm decent at it, I love baking, hiking, and making puns and art. Outside of CSA, I've been involved with Las Hermanas, Los Hermanos, and EPASA. I'm really excited in helping to create an amazing year with CSA!
Noel Sarduy - Financial Advisor
Hello there! My name’s Noel Sarduy and I’m CSA’s financial advisor for 2020-2021. I’m a sophomore planning to major in CS and minor in MS&E. I was born and raised in Santa Clara, Cuba, but I’ve been living in the states since I was 14. I love snorkel diving and free diving, hiking and digital art. I hope to help all of you guys have the best experience with CSA this year, despite the circumstances. Can’t wait to meet you all soon! Shannen Torres - Events Director
Shannen is a senior currently working on their B.A. at Stanford University in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity (CSRE) with a concentration in Identity, Diversity and Aesthetics. As a Dominican-American from New York, they’re interested in the rich legacy of Black Dominican abolition and rural insurgency, and artistic interventions of Dominican and Haitian reconciliation.Their lived experience also informs their research on Black and Brown struggles in cities like the Bronx and how artwork, like graffiti, reflects this history. In 2018-'20, they were a fellow for the Institute for Diversity in the Arts (IDA) and, in 2019, a Marketing and Outreach Coordinator for El Centro Latino y Chicano
