Isis Anderson - Co-President

Hi! My name is Isis Anderson, and I'll be one of your Co-Presidents this year. I'm a sophomore from New Haven, Connecticut, but my family immigrated from Kingston and Saint Andrews, Jamaica! I'm currently double majoring in Political Science and African and African American Studies. Other than CSA, I am a part of Stanford Women's Rugby, the Black Feminist Collective, and I am a Senior Operator at Stanford Center for Professional Development. If you are interested in learning about navigating Stanford as a first generation, low income (FLI) student, listening to 90s R&B music, or maintaining a healthy balance of self-care and your work/academic priorities, don't hesitate to hit me up! I'm really excited for the year ahead of us and another great year for CSA!

Valexa Orelien - Co-President

Hi, my name is Valexa Orelien and I am a sophomore studying Computer Science. I was born and raised in Apex, North Carolina, but my family is from Haiti and currently lives throughout the French Caribbean, Canada, and the States! Other than CSA, I am involved in BSU, SBSE, Seeds of Change, and I am an on-campus ambassador for SAS. Last year, I was glad to be involved and find community in CSA, so I am very excited to be co-President of CSA this year!

Ruth-Ann Armstrong - Financial Officer

Hi! My name is Ruth-Ann Armstrong, and I’m a sophomore from Jamaica majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Economics. This year, I’ll be happily taking on the role of Financial Officer for CSA. I love social justice, journalism, learning new things (currently learning how to play ukulele!), and fried plantains. The community at CSA is an amazing, lively and inclusive one, and I’m glad to be part of it. Looking forward to a fun-filled year!

Chyna Mays - Frosh Outreach and Events Planner

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Chyna Mays, a Stanford 2018 Bio-X Research Fellow, is a sophomore who plans to major in Bioengineering. She is of Bahamian, Native, and African descent. Due to her diverse background, she actively participates in several organizations within the Native Community and African Diaspora. For the upcoming school year, she will share the responsibility of Frosh Outreach and Events Planner for the Caribbean Student Association. To explore one of her personal interests, Chyna spent her freshman year studying Japanese because she hopes to work and live in Japan in the future.

Alison Bartsch - Frosh Outreach and Events Planner

Hi! I’m Alison, a sophomore from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Currently, I’m planning to major in Aeronautics and Astronautics. I love animals, puns, reading, baking and playing/watching soccer. This year, I’ll be sharing the positions of Frosh Outreach and Events Planner for CSA.
